ABHA Arena in Rayyan: Historical Events and the Future of Sports Championships
ABHA Arena, also known as the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena, is located in the picturesque city of Rayyan, near Doha, the capital of Qatar. Completed in 2015, the arena has become an important part of the region's sports infrastructure. With a capacity of 7,700 spectators, it serves as the home court for the Al Sadd Sports Club handball team and is a popular venue for major international competitions.
Since its opening, ABHA Arena has hosted numerous significant events, including the AIBA World Boxing Championships and the 2016 Intercontinental Futsal Cup. In 2023, it hosted the Judo World Championships, and in 2025, it hosted a historic UFC tournament. The arena will also host the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
